MilSOFT Wins High-Tech Eligibility Title

MilSOFT Yazilim Teknolojileri A.S. has been awarded with a level
3 certificate on a capability maturity
model (CCM) scale of five, becoming the first Turkish company
to receive the title from the U.S. Carnegie Mellon University
Software Engineering Institute, the company said in a press release.
MilSOFT offers advanced-technology solutions in the fields of military command control systems, build-in systems, simulations, modeling and information technologies and has produced software for U.S. aviation firm Sikorsky.
CMM is an assessment model developed through joint efforts of the U.S. federal government and leading software firms for the purpose of guiding model software organizations in selecting process improvement strategies by determining critical points regarding software quality and process improvement, the firm said. The U.S. Defense Department, for instance, requires CMM level 3 certificate for its contractors.
The CMM assessments on MilSOFT have been carried out during August 26 September 5, the statement said The firm has worked on CMM since the last quarter of 2000 and developed anc started to implement CMM compatible standard processes, created a CMM infrastructure at tfa organizational level through comprehensive personnel training.
The CMM level 3 title puts MilSOFT among world's 150 leading software houses including IBM, Motorola, AT&T, Boeing and NASA, the statement said.
